Formal, or Ritual, Magic is a form of magic that is attested to be magic's true potential. It involves detailed planning, lengthy preparation, and extended casting times to perform and will usually yield either the best or worst results. Formal Magic is a theoretical application of magic that is experimented and put into practical use. All Rituals performed are considered Formal Magic. Most Formal Magic practitioners are Wizards and Sorcery Magic users because of its widespread influence and strongest ties to academia. Though Formal Magic may include any of the schools of magic and can be practiced by anyone who can cast. While Formal Magic is far more powerful and permanent than Battle Magic, it's lengthy casting and non-certain effects leave most Formal Magic practitioners very butt-hurt about Battle Magic users. This is most seen in the Wizard community. With proper practice and training, one could very well become a powerful caster with Formal Magic.
